Scott Metzger is a senior member of the broad-based litigation department of Duckor Spradling Metzger & Wynne. His leadership and direction have greatly influenced the growth, development, and success of the firm over the years. When asked to characterize his approach to the practice of law, Scott's response is simple and straightforward: "Service, excellence and results."

Scott joined Duckor & Spradling in 1978, working as a law clerk while completing law school at the University of San Diego. Scott graduated from the University of San Diego in 1979, earning his J.D. cum laude and serving as a member of the San Diego Law Review. Prior to law school, Scott attended the University of Colorado, where he received his B.A. in 1974 and his M.B.A. in Finance in 1976.

As one of the region's preeminent trial lawyers, Scott meets the litigation needs of clients ranging from individuals to Fortune 500 companies.

Scott has gained tremendous insight in the business of law these past 29 years. He understands his clients' needs and expectations. "Profit-driven enterprises see litigation as a money and attention drain. We manage these problems for clients with an approach that emphasizes cost and risk control," said Metzger. "We also know that when a case cannot be resolved short of trial, we have the resources, skill and experience to see litigation matters through to successful conclusions." Scott is a member of the American Board of Trial Advocates, and was named one of San Diego’s Top Ten Lawyers by the San Diego Daily Journal in 2004. Scott was also selected as a Corporate Counsel and San Diego “Super Lawyer” by Law & Politics magazine in 2007 and 2008.

Scott is an active community leader in Coronado, where he has lived with his wife and three daughters for 16 years. Scott served as President of the Coronado Schools Foundation (1999-2000). He is involved in the Methodist Church mission projects in Tecate, Mexico, as well as in ongoing global projects with Rotary International. As a Rotarian, Scott’s efforts aided in the establishment of a Limb Camp in Ensenada, Mexico. As a community leader, Scott assisted with the coordination of local hurricane relief efforts in Honduras. He is currently serving as the President of the Rotary Club of Coronado.
